14 Apr Muscle alterations in lipodystrophies: ultrasound characterisation and metabolic correlates
The oral presentation by Dr. Chiara Mele, titled “Muscle alterations in lipodystrophies: ultrasound characterization and metabolic correlates”, was met with great interest during the joint congress of the SIE (Italian Society of Endocrinology) and the SIEDP (Italian Society of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetology), held in Cagliari on March 7–8, 2025, and focused on rare endocrine-metabolic diseases.
The work, part of the WESTERNAGE project, is the result of a collaboration between the Muscle Biology and Metabolism Laboratory and the Endocrinology Laboratory at the University of Piemonte Orientale along with the Myolab Laboratory at the University of Perugia. An important contribution also came from Dr. Jessica Baima and Dr. Valentina Antoniotti.
Thanks to the quality of the research and the clarity of the presentation, the talk was awarded as one of the best of the entire congress, confirming the strong interest and appreciation it generated among the attendees.
